- NOTES ABOUT THE VENUE: The music and dancing will be in a public setting/restaurant, not a dance studio. The floor is smooth concrete, so plan accordingly. People will be eating in the restaurant/bar while the music is happening. For further support of our local community, we highly encourage attendees to consider eating at The Blue Note Grill for dinner. They have excellent food and drinks.

- Instructor Bio: Kenneth Shipp hails from St. Louis as an instructor who grew up dancing hip-hop and DJing breaking comps before jumping into blues. He has spent the past few years passionately studying the family of blues idioms, incorporating his nerdy personality along the way. Kenneth’s life experiences inform his dancing and teaching style so that students walk away with a better historical and contextual understanding. With every class and practice, he’ll encourage you to approach social dancing with coolness, relaxation, or in other words “Chill The F$%& Out.” When he’s not dancing, you can likely find him ranting about the latest blockbuster movie, game, or nerd convention, or desperately trying to dismantle toxic institutions.

- Join us Saturday Night, March, 30th for Live Music and Blues Dancing with an all-star group of NC Musicians. Try out your new dance moves from the Blues Dance classes with internationally renowned instructor Kenneth Shipp.

- Venue: The Old Murphey School offers a nostalgic charm that puts you at ease when you walk through the door. The 2500 square foot wooden floored auditorium makes a wonderful dance venue.
- NOTES ABOUT PARKING: Parking 78 parking spaces are available on the SVRC gravel lot. There is some overflow parking available in the grass in the front of the school. Please carpool as much as possible to avoid overflow parking.
